The Pace of It All
Our generation - Gen X, we’ve lived through both worlds.
We grew up without tech, knowing how good simplicity could be. And then, as adults, we embraced it,the endless connection, the opportunity, the creativity it brought. But the pace? The pace is something else.
Younger generations know no different. But for us, we’ve seen both sides, and I think we’re the ones trying hardest to find the balance.
In a world where we’re told we can (and should) have it all, I keep asking myself: do we really want it all?
Because after a crash, and I mean a real crash, you stop. You take stock. You start to see what actually matters… and honestly, a lot doesn’t.
We don’t have to say yes to every invite.
We don’t have to always be “on.”
It’s ok to do nothing.
It’s ok to watch easy TV, to read chick-lit instead of another self-help book (don’t get me started on that, that’s one for another reflection!).
So here’s my message today:
Stop.
Breathe.
Look up.
Just for a second.
