Think Differently
So yes, it’s October, and no, I won’t apologise… I’m already watching cheesy Christmas movies.
And while we’re at it, I’ll admit it, I also love Murder, She Wrote. There, I’ve said it and I’m not scared to own it! We all have our guilty pleasures, right?
But here’s the thing, watching something that makes you feel good, cheesy or not, isn’t a waste of time. It’s actually great self-care. Sometimes it’s exactly what we need to switch off, reset, and, if we’re lucky, even learn a little something along the way.
In one of the films I watched, the main character said something that really stuck with me:
“When things aren’t working, don’t double down, think differently.”
That line hit home.
Lately, I’ve been so obsessed with trying to make something right, pouring in more time, more energy, more of that “try harder” mindset, but maybe that was never going to fix it.
Sometimes what we need isn’t more effort.
It’s a pause.
To stop.
To reflect.
To breathe.
And to remind ourselves that doing something differently isn’t failure, it’s growth.
Because often, when we finally step back, the clarity comes.
And that’s when things start to fall into place
